In this interview, Daniel shared his personal journey, beginning with his migration from Hong Kong to Australia in the 1980s and his initial affinity with Fo Guang Shan through family visits to the Nan Tien Vihara in Parramatta. He recounted his early life experiences, his family's influence on his spiritual path, and his formative years as a student and young adult adjusting to life in Sydney.

Throughout the interview, Daniel reflected on his long-term involvement with the Nan Tien Temple and BLIA Sydney. He described pivotal moments, such as attending the Nan Tien Temple's Opening Ceremony in 1995 and hosting the BLIA Oceania Conference during the 30th Anniversary in 2024. He highlighted his deepening connection with the temple, the temple's evolution, and its influence on his spiritual and personal development. Daniel also discussed his leadership roles within BLIA Sydney, including organising major events like the Buddha's Birthday Celebration and contributing to radio and translation programs, which underscored his dedication to promoting Humanistic Buddhism.

The interview offered a poignant reflection on the impact of Venerable Master Hsing Yun and the Nan Tien Temple's presence in Australia. Daniel's journey from a young participant to a leader within the temple community illustrates the temple's role in nurturing individual growth and fostering a sense of unity. His account highlighted the temple's influence in transforming lives and promoting Buddhist values, emphasising the need to adapt and engage with younger generations to ensure the continuity and relevance of the temple's teachings.
